With the improvements made to the car during the off season including, stroker kit, new ethanol fuel system and total ground up rebuild, Team Principle Bill Bromley made the decision to also bite the bullet and invest in a new Hollinger 6 Speed Sequential Gear box for the Team CTS Drift 180SX.
The team installed the new box of gears leading up to the Super Drift Cup and the results couldn’t be any better.
Team CTS pilot Simon “The Pitbull” Podlewski took no time at all to come to terms with the update and had nothing put praise for the new addition to the CTS weapon. “It helps in so many ways, you can select the gear you need instantly which allows the engine to stay on boost and keep it in the fat part of the power curve, down changes are just incredible, in under a second you can go from 5th to 3rd and there isn’t any missed gears. To top it all off it just feels heaps stronger than the old gear box, so coupled with the new engine I can now concentrate on driving the car and putting it where it needs to be on the track.”
Team Principle Bill Bromley “Well it is a significant investment in maintaining reliability and ensures Simon can concentrate on driving the car. It was a bit of a mission fitting it, but the team pulled together and found a great solution to make it all happen. At the end of the day it’s not something that was absolutely necessary, but drift is a sudden death sport so giving Simon and the car the right tools is only going to help the Team stay at the pointy end of the field.”
