Expectations were high as Team CTS Drift finally hit the track for it's 2009 debut test with the revised car and team.
New for 2009 driver Simon Podlewski did not disappoint in his first outing in the car as the entire package performed faultlessly.
With the new found power the speed of the CTS 180SX missile was evident from the first lap. Thanks to the support and backing of Toyo Tires the power is delivered to the tarmac through Toyo's flagship hoop, the Proxes R1R. Simon Podlewski remarked “these tyres are just simply awesome, like nothing I have ever used before.”
After final tuning of the suspension and wheel alignment set up it was apparent that the Aussie number one drift team is on the way to a successful 09 campaign.
After a solid half day the team had achieved all the testing points laid out. The car was loaded in to the transporter and taken back to team headquarters in preparation for the first round of the G1 State Championships.
Team Principle Bill Bromley summed up the test “ We achieved all the test points we came for, therefore I couldn't be any happier. Simon settled in to the car remarkably fast, he has the talent required to compete at the top level which was proven last year, now he has the equipment and team behind him to make have a good go at the title. We ironed out the bugs, not that there were many, but I would have to say that as it stands now, I think you would be hard pressed to find a better team package in Australian drift.”
